What we collect. What we don't. How to ask us about your data.
Last updated: 2026-05-02
The full Carborundum AI Privacy Policy is in legal review and not yet active. Until it is, this page describes — honestly — what we actually do today. If there's a gap between this page and our future formal policy, we'll update this page first.
What we collect on this site
When you visit carborundum.ai, we receive standard web traffic data: page views, referrers, country-level location, and device type. This comes from Vercel Analytics and is aggregated — no personally identifying information is attached by default.
When you submit our contact form, we receive whatever you choose to send: name, email, and message body. We use it only to reply to you. It isn't shared, sold, or used to train models.
When you sign up for our newsletter, we receive your email address and use it only to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter we send.
What Manifold collects
Manifold is our ERP product for trades businesses. Manifold customers own their data — we are a data processor, not a data controller, for the operational records (customers, orders, invoices, technician records, communications) that flow through the platform. Customers can request export or deletion of their data at any time.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't use Manifold customer data to train external models. We don't embed third-party advertising trackers in the Manifold app. The marketing site uses standard analytics; the product itself is quieter than that.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send the request to the contact below and we'll respond within a reasonable window — generally within 30 days. If you're a Manifold customer, deletion requests for your operational records run through the platform's export/delete tooling.
Cookies
We use cookies for session authentication on logged-in surfaces (Manifold, Ghost Control) and for Vercel's analytics on the marketing site. We don't use third-party advertising cookies on carborundum.ai.
The honest part
The formal Carborundum AI Data Governance and Privacy Policy is currently a v0.1 draft in our internal governance set, awaiting Scott's review and outside legal review before it becomes the binding document. This page exists so that what we say publicly matches what we actually do today, while that formal review is finishing. When the policy is activated, this page will link to it (and continue to give you the plain-language version).
We do what we say. We only say what we do.
